Everyday Epiphanies
This workshop explores the relationship of regular mindfulness and awareness practice to the arising of moments of great insight and wonder, in particular developing the theme of gratitude as a path in itself.

This workshop explores the relationship of regular mindfulness and awareness practice to the arising of moments of great insight and wonder, in particular developing the theme of gratitude as a path in itself.
We consider the context for gratitude in our personal and collective lives, as well as obstacles to experiencing gratefulness, such as fear, anxiety and suffering; we consider poetic reflections upon the value of gratitude as it connects us to wonder and awe, ‘the emotions of transcendence’ as they have been called (Jonathan Haidt) as well as the neuropsychology of the human body-mind
The workshop includes several practices and reflective exercises, meditating on the ‘shining forth’ of the true nature of things, as perceived by our unconditioned mind. These practices are designed to offer a method for integrating our insights with our regular life, and cultivating habits that support further, deeper experiences of awe and epiphany.
In this manner we approach the interconnection of vision and mystery with the rhythms of everyday life and experience, bridging the gap that the mind of duality often presumes to be present.

After dealing with a time of crisis due to generational trauma in my family, I reached out to Keith. My time working with him was deeply healing. He helped me learn to love myself and life again, through his deeply compassionate approach. His open, honest and creative way of working allowed me to open up and explore myself, my family system and the world around me in a deeply rich way, and I would recommend him to anyone who is undertaking a journey of spiritual awakening and healing.

When I found myself deeply troubled and searching for making meaning about my life, I was guided to Keith.
In him I found a richly spiritual and compassionate man, who held a deeply emphatic safe space, whilst I explored my past and present, and through working with him, found a way of being that meant the future was a place I was ready and willing to step into.

I have worked with Keith in supervision monthly for several years now. He is an immensely talented and experienced supervisor offering a very safe relational space where we explore client work, therapeutic ideas and approaches, as well as existential and spiritual perspectives.
Keith listens with deep attention, gentleness, compassion and respect. He always responds with wisdom, sometimes challenge, sometimes humour, personal clinical experience when appropriate, and very valuable references to writings and authors to further my learning and deepen my understanding.
At the end of an hour’s supervision I always feel enriched, stimulated, and nurtured, which of course not only benefits me but every one of the clients I work with. A huge thank you Keith - you are amazing!

Working with Keith is healing on a soul level as well as in the many practical and impractical settings of one's life. He is by far the most gifted counsellor I have encountered on my path.
Keith’s support for my journey towards healing direct and uplift me to new perspectives, creating more energy and deeper love for the people in my life. It is his immense insight, compassion and caring guidance that grounds our work...
This has spurred my growing self power within both vocational and personal settings. It is a life-changing and healing process, that extents outside the sessions to one's own growing ability to change, persevere and inspire one's loved ones along the way. I have found his work to be applicable in deep crisis as well as life situations of grace –both are places one can need practice to integrate and grow with.

Insightful, meaningful, helpful, informative and balanced. The whole Mindfulness course had a graceful rhythm that felt relaxed and yet energising. Keith created a safe space and delivered the content of the course with wisdom, gentleness, humility and humour.
There was a perfect balance of experiential exercises and reflection. I left feeling spacious, clear and more accepting.

Keith Hackwood is a therapist with deep experiential and academic insight; he has guided me with unwavering compassion into aspects of myself and the world that otherwise would have remained entirely unknown. His introductory mindfulness course created a safe container in which to explore a nascent opening of the heart when so much in life seemed impossibly dark.
